Terms of use

The game

Ashen Descent is a single-player action roguelike. A life lets you start one fresh expedition. The expedition descends without end; death, the 3-hour active-play limit and abandoning end it permanently; there is no paid resurrection.

Daily lives

Each profile receives one free expedition per UTC calendar day. A daily-lives pass raises this to 3 or 5 expeditions per day; owning both passes gives 5. Daily lives refresh at 00:00 UTC, do not accumulate, and are used before any purchased life. An expedition belongs to the day on which it started.

Daily-lives passes

The passes "3 lives per day" and "5 lives per day" are one-time (non-consumable) purchases through the App Store or Google Play. They grant more attempts per day only, never better rewards or any gameplay advantage. A pass stays with the store account that bought it and can be restored on another device or profile with "Restore purchases"; it is then active on the profile that restored it most recently. If Apple or Google refunds or revokes a pass, the extra daily lives end.

Purchased lives

Lives are sold as consumable in-app purchases through the App Store or Google Play in packs of 1, 3 or 5. Prices are shown by your store in your currency before you confirm. Purchased lives never expire and are not capped. They grant attempts only, not success, better rewards or any gameplay advantage. Lives have no cash value and cannot be transferred between profiles.

Refunds are decided by Apple or Google. If a purchase is refunded, unused lives from that purchase are removed; lives already used are not charged again.

Inactive expeditions

An expedition with no activity for 7 days expires and ends like an abandoned expedition. The life used to start it is not returned.

Fair play and leaderboards

Scores are calculated and verified by our server from your recorded inputs. We may reject results that fail verification and remove entries obtained through cheating or automation. Verification checks that the game rules were followed; it cannot prove who played.

Your profile

Guest profiles are tied to the device unless you create a recovery code. If you lose your device without a recovery code, we cannot restore your profile or its lives. You can delete your profile at any time.

Service changes

We may update the game. If verification of an older, interrupted expedition becomes impossible after an update, we will end it and compensate the life used. Mandatory consumer rights in your country remain unaffected.
